Free Geological MapsAt the Gold Prospecting Seminars that Udo and I run in Cue, we show people how to use Geomap to target locations where they can find gold .Geomap is also a wonderful free product provided by the Dept of Mines and Petroleum and we will put out a full newsletter on that in the future. Geomap is a Geographical Information viewer similar to Oziexplorer and TrackRanger which enables you to;
We explain Geomap and train people how to use it at our Gold Prospecting Seminars and provide a host of data, geological maps and topographical maps for the course participant to use.
Links to Free Geological Maps and Geological Map Legend DocumentsSome of the maps that you can download are from the Dept of Mines Data and Software Centre such as the 1:100000 and 1:250000 Mosaic Images available from this page:
These maps however do not have legends attached to them because they are images of many geological Maps in an area that are joined together and the legend parts of the maps have been removed
However if you need to interpret the information on these maps when using them in Geomap you will need a Legend.
Legend Documents for Geological Maps in WA
There are two options to help you obtain the legend information for the tiled Mosaic maps that you download from the DMP Data and Software Centre. (1) A Geoscience legend document which gives you the broad legend of the various types of rocks and structures - available for free digital download here; Geological Maps Legend Document

Last Few Vacancies Left for Gold Prospecting Seminars in 2012;
There will be no more Seminars in 2012 so those last few positions are all that is left this year.

We were there at Cue on the 28th and 29th of July 2012 ,and will truly recommend to anyone who is even slightly interested in prospecting to give it serious consideration if you have a desire to be successful in finding gold. I can honestly state neither Alan or myself had ever detected prior and after the two day course we both found gold , lucky maybe , but without the tuition from your seminar we would not have stood a hope in hell of finding the elusive yellow metal or operating the Minelab 5000 detectors. We thank you for your encouragement , friendship and direction. Thanks also for continuing interest after the course, supplying directions for likely legal detecting areas ,and the continuing invitation to prospect on Udo’s lease. We had a great week and thank you all from the two of us .We would recommend this seminar to anyone who is interested without doubt . All the very best to you all and thanks again
