GoldTracker Software

We have also been involved in developing software and information over the last few years to help you target potential gold locations more easily, using computer technology.

One exciting technology product we have been involved in is GoldTracker Software which enables you to select a point on a map and see exactly what the potential of finding gold in that location is.

How is Gold Prospectivity Measured in GoldTracker

This is how the score of gold prospectivity (Potential for Gold Occurrence!) is calculated and allocated over 1 million locations in WA.

The gold prospectivity score in Goldtracker is assessed using a number of criteria;

  • Economic History - The economic geological history of the area, evidenced by either presence or absence of previously discovered or indicated gold occurrences.
  • Lithology - The presence, distribution and type of rocks and overburden.
  • Structural Geology - The presence, association and relative distribution of structural features including for example faults, folds, intrusives, metamorphic and altered zones, and geological boundaries.
  • Other - Presence of alignments, palaeo-channels, stratigraphic unconformities.

The GoldTracker database immediately assesses the prospectivity for Gold Mineralisation of over 1 million locations in WA and provides a prospectivity score for that location. Even Better, if the area you have chosen has a poor prospectivity score, THEN YOU JUST ASK FOR THE NEAREST BEST POTENTIAL LOCATION.

Right now Goldtracker is a simple web interface that you click on a map and select a position you would like assessed for Gold Potential (or ask for the nearest Best Potential location) but in future it will also be available as a phone APP with many other enhancements.
