A Great All round Detector (Minelab GPX5000)

by David W
(South Australia )

I've had my 5000 for 2 years and only been able to use it 3 times because of border closures and each time I have found gold.

I use a 12 inch Nuggetfinder coil which I find runs much quieter than the Minelab coils.

I found it very easy to understand and use the settings which was my main concern when I purchased it.

I certainly recommend the GPX5000 to anyone thinking of buying a metal detector. Dave W.

HI Dave

I agree, Udo uses the 5000 all the time and I go back to it from my 7000 Occasionally to go over ground in case I have missed something.

The best value for money is a Minelab 5000 with some of the new coils especially the 17x13" or the smaller 12x9" nuggetfinder mono Evolution (or any of the Evolution range or Coiltek Elite range) which is good on the small gold and will get depth for the deeper gold.
