Minelab 5000 - Will it be as good as the 4500 that found Two Deep Nuggets?

by Alan
(Melbourne)

I have just bought a Minelab 5000,if its as good as as my 4500 l wil be pleased.

My first two nuggets that were found with Minelab 4500 would have paid for 3, 4500 detectors and great on depth over a meter deep

I will be trying it out on the weekend 21/2/2012.

I will give the goss then,

Alan

... Note from Bill

Thanks Alan that is a fantastic depth they must have been awesome nuggets.

Would be very interested what you think about the depth capabilities of the 5000 compared to the 4500 after you try it.

Minelab 5000 - Review of New Machine

by Alan Nash
(Victoria )

Hi everyone, well l tried out the new Minelab 5000 on the week end in a area that is highly mineralised ground and yes it is more stable to run.
I was swinging a nugget finder 14x7 mono coil and for the amount of time swinging it produced two deep targets one was a 45 cal copper coated shot at 14" deep the second target was a bit of iron mushroom bit of a chisel,

The area l went to is very hilly and you could see where the old timers did loaming to trace the gold, no gold was found on this day but l was very happy with the machine.

I will be speaking to Mayjor Dave when l get back to Dunolly Thursday just to see what settings he is running his 5000.

I did notice that the coil did not ping very much when hitting sticks and rocks.

I always run my detector in slow and also had it in deep, with patience the rewards will come.

I will keep you posted with further finds, Alan
